Farm visits at SPACE 2022

In 2021, we offered virtual video farm tours to international visitors. This year, we give you the opportunity to discover Breton farms and learn about a day in the life of breeders, their farming practices and the equipment they use.

Farm visits programme 2022

Average duration of the visits: 3-4 hours. Departure and return: Gate C.
A guide will be present during each visit to translate in English.

Blonde d'Aquitaine beef breed farm
Race in the spotlight at SPACE 2022
50 Blonde d’Aquitaine cows, conducted in organic farming (AB)
Direct sale of some females and males at 7-8 months
Sheep workshop with 50 Landes de Bretagne ewes

Pig farm
Farrow-to-finish farm (265 sows)
R&D pilot farm: alternative pig farming where equipment and farming practices have been reviewed to improve animal welfare and farmer comfort

Poultry layers farm
6 000 layers in organic farming (AB)
105 Holstein Red dairy cows
Pioneering farm in organic farming: since 1968 and soil conservation techniques
4 associates - 220 hectares

Visit n°9 - Afternoon
Dairy farm with on-site processing
150 Prim'Holstein and Montbéliardes dairy cows
400,000 L of milk processed at the farm (butter, cream, cheese, yogurts...)
6 associates - 280 hectares

In 2021, 4 breeders have opened the doors of their farm and talked about their daily life, their equipements, … representing 4 different productions: poultry sector, dairy sector, shepp sector and pisciculture.

 

Poultry farm

Stéphane DAHIREL, breeder in Lanouée (Morbihan):

- 5 poultry houses

- 3 000 m² of buildings with forced ventilation

- 2 buildings with photovoltaic panels

- Hypochlorous acid water treatment

- Production of milling wheat wheat treated with seaweed products
