NuEra Profit, a customized index for farmers who raise beef cattle resulting from Beef sire on dairy cows.
It is a unique index that assesses the growth and finishing performances of beef animals intended for slaughter. This new index was developed to demonstrate to breeders and processors in the beef industry the most profitable genetics. This index is based on 6,500 phenotypic results including more than 1,400 feed efficiency measurements to identify the most profitable and efficient bovine genetics.
The bulls are evaluated in 4 categories: Base - Standard - Profit Plus - Profit Max. The difference in gain observed between a British bull called "Base" and a bull called "Profit Max" amounts to €195 per animal. This gain amounts to €127 in the Angus breed. This results in an 11% reduction in the carbon footprint, a 10% increase in feed efficiency, a reduction of almost 100 days in age at slaughter.
